When can we finally start buying/selling these on guru? Its been 3 months since anet said they were removing them and they havent. But why can we still not trade them on this forum? If both the buyer and seller understand that the items could potentially be removed from the game at any time then whats the problem? Collecting these interesting weps is decent entertainment but annoying without the aid of this forum.
So why have mods banned them from Ventari's corner? Is it simply the fact that anet has said they were unintended? If both parties understand the 'risk' then i dont see what the big deal is.

wurd. they never banned that one green axe from the forums. wait... i think they did. can't remember. but this other thing seems way over due. personally i think that if they figured a way to "fix" those items they would have done so by Now. obviously they can't.

Oh, they can. They're just too lazy to. Well, let me put that another, more polite way. They're just too understaffed to do it.
They've been able to remove items many times before, their priorities are just in other places.
I would recommend that we allow the selling of these items on guru now. It's obvious that they are not going to pull these out of the game.

Well....good point. However, we know that they are able to trace dropped items in trades since they were able to trace duped armbraces.

Yeah, but they fixed that by banning everyone involved, rather than removing them..

Hmm, also true. Haven't they removed items from people's inventories before though? If so, then we can reasonably assume that it's possible.

And not everyone with duped braces got banned, there are probably still duped braces floating around out there, cause yeah they didnt delete them they just went ban crazy.
I think they said they would remove them because they were unintended but now they realize how much of a pain it is so they are just kinda buying there time while doing nothing.
Still i dont get what the big deal about trading them is.

Hmm, two things ...
1) Check this thread in Site Feedback.
2) Yes, Guru did ban trading those WiK greens that were glitched when they found out about the glitch. (How can I say that for sure? Because I was helping mod Ventari's back when it happened - I remember the fiasco ... more than I would prefer to.) But ANet fixed both new greens and then existing greens within a week or so in that case.

Anet has never deleted random golds from people. In my opinion they can't, because each gold is different, not like the wik greens where the possibilities were finite. Here the possibilities are infinite.

The idea that they don't have full control over a game they designed is absurd. If this was 2005 and on the top of their to-do list, they would have been removed by now.
And its not like someone with these items has such a great advantage that r1k team could byob and flawless [rawr]. I just don't see what the big deal is.

I agree that it's a bit unusual that we've waited this long despite hearing that they would be fixed. Perhaps I'll make another inquiry.
In the meantime, no - these weapons will not be sold on the forums. It's easy for us informed readers to say we're aware of the risks, but the truth is that there are always going to be people who are caught unawares and those potentially looking to take advantage. If these weapons were a matter of only a few platinum we certainly wouldn't care. However, I think I am correct in saying that these items come in an extremely limited quantity, and even fewer that are of decent quality. These are quite the potential cash cow if people are aware of what they are buying/selling, and we simply want to prevent people from losing a lot of money.
Not all of you will agree with the methodology being employed, but this is what we have. Let's skip the argument on, "Yes/no we should protect the ignorant" and just hope we'll hear some more news on this matter.

If they had made a server rollback, this problem would not exist, but well.
They are sleeping all the time and do nothing. There are so many glitches in that game and they are doing nothing, because they dont really control anything. there are still many bots floating around and nobody cares about. I my opinion they do not know how to solve the problem and now standing in front of a great wall they cant pass.
What does this mean for anet?
-> Dont sleep all the time and take care about what happens in your game.

Remember that the weapons were spawning during Halloween, a peak time for trading, a rollback would probably have reversed billions of gold in trades of ToT bags and other consumables. A small minority of players were seeking these triple mods, thousands were farming and trading. A rollback wasn't worth it at all.

Yes, and they should fix that hole in the ozone layer while they were at it, too. I mean, how can it be possible for those issues not to be addressed? They clearly have no clue about what they are doing, nor a way to make things better. And to think of excuses like understaffing, limited cash resources or developing an awesome new game... Preposterous!
And, yeah, it would have been really awesome on their part to roll back the game a couple of days. What does it matter that it was the trading peak for 2010 (well, until Wintersday, anyway), when even the poorest of players had a chance to make a bit of cash?! Take it all away! Those tools of Menzies and of Dhuum should have been obliterated there and then, before they could destroy the GW world as we know it!!
